My Review
For fans of Harold Fry and The Keeper of Lost Things, you will love Peggy Smart and the Single Ladies of Jacaranda Retirement Village by Joanna Nell
I read this book in hardback from Hodder. This story is absolutely beautiful. I love reading specially a story that is character driven. I also like reading about the older generation. Let me start by saying when you reach to an old age pensioner and find your self on your own, you’re never too late fall in love again. 79- year- old pensioner Peggy Smart in her retirement village goes to aqua aerobics classes with her friends. She does have appointment with her doctor over a secret issue that she has been suffering from. Unfortunately Peggy is involved in an accident and is extremely worried that her family will try to put her in a care home. Angie Valentine an old school friend plays a big part in Peggy’s life. And at the age of 79 Peggy Smart is falling in love with Brian Cornell. The other book that I loved specially loved reading about an elderly retired couple is Midwinter Break by Bernard MacLaverty. I highly recommend reading both of these books. On another positive note if you loved reading Harold Fry and The Keeper of Lost Things you will love reading about Peggy Smart and the single Ladies of Jacaranda Retirement Village.
