Netta (20) can’t wait to leave Germany and teach in Brighton, England. It’s the height of the swinging 60s, but Netta hasn’t bargained for the prejudice she’ll receive in a country full of anti-German sentiment just twenty years after the war. She finds solace in Billy, the school caretaker, with whom she falls in love. But when she takes him back to Germany at Christmas it’s Billy’s turn to be on the receiving end of a frosty welcome.
My Review
I Love You Billy Langley is one the best stories that I have read.
This book makes a lovely birthday gift. Or treat your self. The first book Watcher we find Netta’s dad has come home back to Germany, for reasons I won’t say as you might like to read this book first.
However I Love You Billy Langley can be read as a standalone, just like I did. I was drawn to this book by the heading and the front cover design with a beautiful young lady carrying an old fashioned suitcase.
I really enjoyed reading all about Netta, as I found she was a very strong young lady with opinions of her own. Netta is leaving her family home in Germany, for Brighton in England. I particularly liked this part, Netta’s mother can now clean her daughter’s bedroom out, now Netta is leaving the family home. Well you know what mother’s are like, Netta’s mother thinks she can throw away rubbish that’s in Netta’s bedroom. But outspoken Netta demands that under no circumstances is the cleaner to throw away anything, as Netta has plans to come back home at christmas.
While Netta is in England, she meets Billy and takes him home to meet her parents. But what happens once Netta arrives back to her large family home with Billy?
