From two-time Newbery Medalist Kate DiCamillo comes a story of discovering who you are — and deciding who you want to be.
In this world there are the rescuers and the rescued. I have always fallen into the second category.

When Louisiana Elefante’s granny tells her that must leave town now to flee an ancient curse,  Louisiana figures she will soon change her mind. After all, Granny can be very melodramatic.

But Granny does not intend for them to return. Ever.

Far away from her friends and everything she knows, Louisiana struggles to oppose the winds of fate and to find a way home. Could it be that she is destined only for goodbyes?

My Review

I knew I was going to enjoy reading Louisianna’s Way Home, because I have read and enjoyed one of this author’s Kate DiCamillo books before, I have read and reviewed Raymie Nightingale .

In this new adaption, the day of reckoning had arrived and Louisiana and her granny must leave immediately although it’s is 3am. Louisiana Elefante’s great -grandfather was a magician and long, long, ago he set into motion a most terrible curse.

My funniest part in the story Louisiana says she has been kidnapped by granny, and she eat fourteen very small bags of peanuts.

Any young girl will fall in love with all of Kate DiCamillo books. Although this book is age range for 9-12 years I personally enjoy reading Kate DiCamillo books and I’m looking forward to reading her next book.

About Kate DiCamillo

Kate DiCamillo was named National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature for 2014–2015, says about stories, “When we read together, we connect. Together, we see the world. Together, we see one another.” Born in Philadelphia, the author lives in Minneapolis, where she faithfully writes two pages a day, five days a week.
Kate DiCamillo’s own journey is something of a dream come true. After moving to Minnesota from Florida in her twenties, homesickness and a bitter winter helped inspire Because of Winn-Dixie – her first published novel, which, remarkably, became a runaway bestseller and snapped up a Newbery Honor. “After the Newbery committee called me, I spent the whole day walking into walls,” she says. “I was stunned.
