The Bookshop Of Panama Suzanne Hope
Paperback published 28th April 2019 by book guild
How a bunch of ex-pats and Electric Lemonade helped transform a bookworm’s life for the better.
Burned-out charity worker and self-described ‘stick-in-the-mud’, Kate Lewis, has been left high and dry in Panama by her UN action man boyfriend who dumps her just days after they relocate there to start a new life together. No wonder Kate is depressed and lacking direction!
But just around the corner is an oddball bunch of ex-pats, a completely random encounter in New York and a cocktail called Electric Lemonade.
Could these be instrumental in turning her life around? Is there any possibility of going back to her old life in London? Only Kate can decide…
A lively cast of characters and hot tropical nights in the melting pot of Panama City are ready to be discovered. So, what are you waiting for?
My review
I couldn’t put this book down, I think mainly because I have a thing for novels about bookshops. I really fell in love the character Kate Lewis has a strong passion for reading a wide range of books. Her boyfriend Marco is an UN action man, with their lease up on their flat, they should both be jetting of to Panama but her boyfriend is called to go on a mission to Sudan. Once Kate is Panama her boyfriend dumps her and we all know how that feels when your boyfriend dumps you. Kate has new friends in Panama and has a dream of having her own bookshop. Will she settle down in Panama and have her dream bookshop? My advice don’t let this lovely book pass your attention.
