Live A Little by Madeleine Reiss
Paperback published 5th September 2019 by Zaffre
Lottie has always followed the rules, her life is comfortable and she is – finally, finally – marrying her long-term, reliable, boyfriend Dean.
Tina is carefree, wild and, maybe, just a little bit careless. She doesn’t understand Lottie’s obsession with settling down with ‘dull Dean’, there’s so much to explore in the world.
The two sisters have drifted apart, living in different countries until the death of their older sister, Mia. Mia was the glue that held them together, made them a family and without her Lottie and Tina realise how little they know each other.
Desperate to remedy this, Tina convinces Lottie to cancel her hen do, fly halfway around the world and set out on a road trip across the US, just the two of them.
But Tina has one more thing up her sleeve to shake up Lottie’s life – she must say yes to everything Tina suggests, no matter what.
My REVIEW
I wanted to read Live a Little by Madeleine Reiss first of all with having read, Someone To Watch Over Me, that I gave five stars too, and Before We Say Goodbye that I gave five stars too.
The second reason I wanted to read Live a Little is that by reading the blurb two sisters in the story are completely different and with having two daughters myself I immediately related to that.
I loved reading about Tina who is wild, carefree and just goes with the impulse on doing just about anything no matter how wild it seems.
But Lottie is a very caring young lady who always like to follow rules and she is quite happy to be getting married.
Tina wants to drive with her and Lottie. Wild Tina wants to stop off when they feel like stopping and just drive all day, or stay in one spot, just as the spirit moves them. Lottie seems like me I just would rather know the destination that I’m traveling to at least.
I certainly agree with the blurb on cover with two sisters going on a road trip, what more could possibly go wrong and further more one should be getting married.
A clever well written story about two sisters, and a lot more of excitement is to come.
