MY REVIEW

This is my second novel by M. J. TJIA. What I like about this author’s novels is that she puts a modern spin on a classic style of mystery. I’m  very pleased to have read book 3 in the award winning historical crime series. If you love reading Agatha Christie books you will love reading M. J. Tjia’s books. I particularly liked reading about Chinese maid Amah LI Leen, who is very unhappy with housemaid Abigail for letting a man in who claims to be checking the chimneys in the house. Amah finds in her bedroom her mother’s earring missing, that happened to be all that she left of her mother, and gowns thrown across the floor. In the sitting room some books have been tugged from the shelves. Who is responsible for the mess around the house and what happened to Amah’s mothers missing earring ? The mystery of a lot more that happened in the house kept me glued to the story.
