LOCAL LEGEND BY PAUL TREMBLING

Paperback published Lion Hudson

It was him, Graham was sure of it. He might not have seen Adi Varney for years, but no one forgets their oldest friend’s face.

As a football player and manager, Adi had taken his club from victory to victory before suddenly leaving it all behind. No one understood why.

But now he was back or was he? If it was Adi, why was he avoiding everyone who knew him?

Convinced something is wrong Graham is determined to work out what has happened to his friend. The game he uncovers is deadly but if he doesn’t play lives will be on the line.

MY REVIEW

I enjoyed reading Local Legend so much I’m now following Paul Trembling on Goodreads.

I’ve never read a novel before about fictional football. This was a splendid story. I can honestly vouch that no one needs like football to be able to get into this story.

I’m full of praise for author Paul Trembling as he has come up a unusual mystery/ thriller, surrounding a footballer, one with chapters that Changes the meaning to why the main character Graham is being snubbed by his best footballer friend.

I don’t know how author Paul Trembling came up with this page turning mystery/ thriller, but I guess that’s what author Paul Trembling is most certainly good at collecting all his knowledge in writing skills, and presenting us with not only just a excellent  page turning storyline, but cleverly gave us an audience of characters to love or stitch us up in scenes that one can’t possibly know the impact on what happens next.  I most certainly want to read his next book that comes out in 2020.
During a wedding reception Graham decided to go for a walk when he sees through hotel window his old friend Adi Varney who is a local football legend, when Graham taps on the window to get Adi’s attention he stares straight through him snubbing him.

The question is why has Graham’s best friend from when they were kids just ignored him?

Graham begins asking around about Adi Verney and learns that a sports centre footballer Adi founded is closing down.

There’s a lot more to find out about why Adi Varney ignored Graham, but I won’t spoil it for you saying why. But believe me when I say there’s more than meets the eye, through this story I honestly mean just that as much more happens than you will never expect. I have to put my hand on my heart and say Local Legend has been extremely well written and will leave you in gasp for air at some of the things that happens. A real true must buy.
