When Ella and Jem connect, the physical resemblance is uncanny, but their lives couldn’t be more different. One is from a tiny island deprived Northern community pretty much the back of beyond where she has no job, no boyfriend, limited prospects.
The other, a London socialite, an aspiring actress living in a multimillion-pound mansion. By all appearances, she’s living a charmed life, but she’s got some serious shit to run away from. Both of them have. Can either hide in her double’s skin? And at what Cost? Will it solve any of the problems, or merely compound them?
Dead Ringer is an all-too-believable, twisty, compelling story that will leave you reeling.
MY REVIEW
A pair of doppelgängers. A pack of lies.
A page turning unique fiction twisty story, that’s very believable. I couldn’t believe it when I read that Dead Ringer is Nicola Martin’s first novel.
A new app MeetYourDouble with 200,000 downloads in one month. You might think you’re one in a million but with seven billion people in the world, there are a fair few of you out there! All you do is upload some photos of yourself and click Find my doppelmatch.
Ella Mosier age 24, has a 98 percent match with Jemmia Cootes Mitchell, aged 25, an actress. Although Elle was disappointed by how little Jemmia looked liked her, Elle set off to meet Jemmia. Readers are taken through Ella Mosier’s journey with Jemmia.
I think if in real- life if this app to find my double really existed, I may be tempted but I wouldn’t want to meet my double, well not after reading Dead Ringer.
I loved reading the paperback Dead Ringer from page one, right up to the ending. I’m one for loving endings that surprise me, and Dead Ringer, ending totally gave me that shock of surprise.
To reveal anything that happens when Ella meets up with her so called double Jemmia would spoil a readers fun and suspense as what happens.
I can see Dead Ringer, climbing to the top in the charts as a top seller.
