MY REVIEW

I have read City of Fallen Angles, but Valley of Shadows by Paul Buchanan is my top favourite novel, by author Paul Buchanan. I loved every single page.

What won me over was the idea of Private Investigator Keegan looking after millionaire Ida Fletcher’s papers and checking on her LA properties.

Keegan was a well known private Investigator who was called Jim, Jimmy or James.

Donovan didn’t check on Ida’s Newport Beach house any more as he had retired. It is Jim Keegan a Private Investigator who is being offered the job, to look after Ida Fletcher as his new client.

When Jim Keegan visits Ida Fletcher‘s bungalow he is greeted by a bodyguard. Keegan see the man had all the markings of a Sunset strip bouncer, he was there to see Mrs Fletcher. To Keegan Ida’s bodyguard Frank, looked more like a boxer than a bouncer.

Millionaire Ida Fletcher is a pretty woman who looked to be in her forties with her piled up in a bouffant.

Private Investigator Keegan sat on the sofa with the Ida Fletcher and her bodyguard. He had come highly recommended to Millionaire Ida and if the job interested him that he had been offered he would be supplied with a strongbox that had to be kept in Jim’s office safe.

The first duty that Jim Keegan would have to do is to visit Ida’s properties at least once each week to make nothing sure nothing was missing. The keys to both those houses were in the strongbox and should be kept in Keegan’s safe when they were not in use. Ida instructions to Keegan were set crystal clear.

I was shocked to find out all the paper work and what other items was inside the strongbox that Keegan had to look after for Ida Fletcher.

The reader is taken through the houses that Keegan has to check on, with Ida’s nephew staying at one of his aunts Ida’s houses without her knowing.

Danny Ida’s nephew is eager to find out where his aunt Ida is staying and Private Investigator Jim Keegan has made a big mistake giving Ida’s nephew Danny, his business card in the first place. And the story takes a turn for the worst when Ida Fletcher goes missing.

Valley of Shadows right up my street in my taste in what I look for in a thriller book with a twist that’s kept right up until the end. I recommend it to all thriller fans as a must read.

I would like to thank Legend Press for inviting me to take part in the blog tour.
