MY REVIEW.
I really love reading psychological thrillers best and I have to strongly recommend Perfect Strangers.
I adored how the novel is split into three sections from three best friends voices, with first of all Eleanor, then Nancy and the third best friend Mary.
In each section we find out more about the three best friends who have known each other for years.
I really liked reading about the characters as they are all interesting with troubles of their own.
Nancy and Robert have been married for years. Nancy has money and power in a very good job that gets her to meet authors. Robert is a lawyer. They both have it all with their perfect life in a big house with their daughter Zara.
Eleanor’s best friend knows Nancy is having an affair with a married man, but all Eleanor knows is the first name of Nancy’s lover.
Nancy wants to end the relationship with the man she has been having a secret affair with.
With Zara Nancy’s daughter leaving home, I think this maybe one of the reason Nancy had an affair for a bit of excitement in her life and then not knowing how to end the affair.
Nancy’s husband Robert knows his wife is having affair.
At first I was struggling to find out who is guilty of Nancy’s murder. It could have been anyone who appeared in the story so far. At this point I feel a twist could appear.
Eleanor often visited her friend, Irene. We all know that lying gets our self into a worse mess. This is exactly what is happening to Eleanor, She lied saying that she called into see Irene, when she didn’t. Now Irene is dead.
Eleanor and Robert start a relationship together, which I think is a bad mistake. Has Robert got no consideration for his daughter Zara who hasn’t got over her mother’s death. I’m ashamed of Eleanor sleeping with her dead best friend Nancy’s husband.
The third best friend Mary, has plenty of troubles of her own with her children and husband. This is a fabulous psychological thriller that kept me guessing who murdered Nancy, and I do have to declare I didn’t see the ending coming.
