With snow falling over the town of Virgin River, the close-knit community has gathered in the town square to light their Christmas tree. But amidst the festivities, a surprise is discovered a box of abandoned puppies.
Local vet Nathaniel Jensen is brought in to help and, together with visitor Annie Mckenzie must care for the puppies. But this Christmas Nate and Annie discover there is more than one sprinkle of magic in Virgin River.
Drew and Foley and Sunny Archer are each visiting Virgin River for the holidays, and trying to escape broken hearts. Sunny, left at the altar the previous New Year’s Eve, is in no mood to celebrate and Drew, getting over his own heartbreak, is trying to find some peace in the beautiful town. But a chance meeting at Jack’s Bar has Virgin River spreading its holiday magic once again and, as the town celebrates New Year, Drew and Sunny must decide if the best way to heal their broken hearts might just be with each other.
MY REVIEW
The new Virgin River is a series all about Virgin River. The series has been adapted into books and into a Netflix series.
What’s more exciting is that all the books from the series can be read as a stand-alone.
Tis The Season story set in Virgin River is one that tugs on your heart, specially if you love animals.
Let’s talk about romance!
But first, with a snowy Christmas Day fast approaching, in virgin River, the small community has come together to light up their town Christmas tree.
Annie Mckenzie was used to all animals as she was brought up on a farm near Alder Point. She didn’t pass through Virgin River very often, but she enjoyed going back to Jack Sheridan bar.
Jack’s young son David finds eight newborn puppies in a box abandoned under the Christmas tree.
Twenty eight year old Annie Mckenzie takes over knowing what to do, she puts a puppy in turn under her sweater, feeds them through an eye dropper.
Four of the puppies are doing really well try to recover, but two are trying to recover from hunger and hypothermia.
Local vet Doc Nathaniel Jensen Junior is called upon for his help. The last thing that Annie doesn’t want is for the puppies taken to a shelter.
Lots of people buy a puppy for Christmas and don’t realise the impact when the dog thinks your lovely lounge carpet is the grass. It’s sad when puppies are bought as a Christmas present and then get returned back to a shelter.
Romance could be on the cards when Drew Foley visits Virgin River, after a bad breakup, if he had married that woman it would have been a disaster.
Sunny Archer was an only child visiting Virgin River for the holidays for her own sad reasons, she was left waiting for the groom to show, for the wedding to begin on New Year’s Eve.
Now Sunny is finally happy with new photography business that has taken off.
Drew is out of practice talking to women, so when Drew try’s to talk to Sunny she makes it crystal clear that she isn’t available.
Will Drew and Sunny finally get along and could they fall in love with each other?
I have loved all the Virgin River book series , but for me Tis The Season is my very favourite, leaving me to recommend this special book to you all.
