MY REVIEW
I was so excited to start reading A Boy Called Christmas, as this is my first book by Matt Haig that I have read, and I love Christmas, and specifically Christmas theme books. I have also watched the movie on Sky Cinema, before I read the book.
The film has the most magical, fantastic fantasy scenes with a whole cast of fabulous characters.
I did see the boy who plays Nikolas being interviewed on TV, I was amazed at how grown up the boy is now. I was also surprised at how tall he is and he let us into a few secret behind the scenes.
We have the book A BOY CALLED CHRISTMAS, we have the film, too.
I loved reading this cute book A Boy Called Christmas, with its delightful illustrations . All children and adults will just love reading this book and looking at the pictures that follow the story.
I would love this book to be turned into a Christmas pantomime. Starring Nikolas. I can hear the cheers from the audience for Nikolas who is an only child, living in a one room cottage in the middle of nowhere, with a talking mouse, Miika that all children will love. Miika the mouse is Nikolas only friend.
Joel, Nikolas father is very poor, but when Joel is offered an reward to find elf village leaving Nikolas in care of his wicked aunt Carlotta, who I can just hear the booing for her in a pantomime.
Nikolas has only one special toy, a turnip doll his mother made, that he adored and treasured.
Exciting magic starts to happen as Nikolas goes on an magical adventure on a reindeer to find his father.
This book is a very special book and value for money. In my view one of the best Christmas present, or Christmas Eve present you can give, as not only is the story a magical one, but also at the back of the book are some exciting festive activities.
I would like to say a hugethank you to Canongate books for sending me this fabulous book to read and review and for kindly inviting me to join in the read along.
