Published 3rd Feb 2022 in hardback by Macmillan, and paperback 1st September 2022

Some secrets you keep from your family. Some you keep for them.

When twenty-nine-year-old Sunday Brennan wakes up in a Los Angeles hospital, bruised and battered after a drunk-driving accident she caused, she swallows her pride and goes home to her family in New York. But it’s not easy. She deserted them all – and her high school sweetheart – five years before, with little explanation, and they’ve got questions.Sunday is determined to rebuild her life back on the East Coast, even if it does mean tiptoeing around resentful brothers and an ex-fiancé. The longer she stays, however, the more she realizes they need her just as much as she needs them. When a dangerous man from her past brings her family’s pub business to the brink of financial ruin, the only way to protect them is to upend all of their secrets – secrets that have damaged the family for generations and will threaten everything they know about their lives. In the aftermath, the Brennan family is forced to confront painful mistakes-and ultimately find a way forward, together.

My review

We are the Brennnans debut novel by Tracey Lange, is a lot like my favourite TV series Dynasty with all the craziness that goes on. I know you will all want to meet the Brennans.

I definitely recommend We Are the Brennan’s, as this story is a page turner, full of drama that is filled by secrets and full of heart, in a America-dysfunctional Irish Catholic family.

The story is rather like an outsider looking in watching mistakes happen without being able to do anything to help. The Brennans family are a family where I thought what’s going on here? Yes I couldn’t wait to turn the next page to find out what was was happening and why.

Some secrets you keep from your family. Some you keep for them.

Sunday Brennan, living in California has been drinking heavily flipping her car, crashing into a barrier on the Highway ending up in hospital. Why had Sunday been drinking heavily? And above all what was she thinking of drinking and driving.

Sunday’s brother Denny Brennan from New York is the only number of an emergency contact, who leaves his pub to visit his sister in hospital.

As soon as Sunday is allowed out of hospital, she goes back with Denny to her hometown where there will be a niece that she didn’t even know. I was glued to this story as so much more unfolds.

We Are the Brennans is perfect for fans of Maggie O Farrell and John Boyne.

I would like to thank McMillan for inviting me to take part in this amazing blog tour and for sending me the paperback to read and review. ❤️
