THE TREASURE UNDER THE JAM FACTORY BY CHRISSIE SAINS

LLUSTRATOR JENNY TAYLOR

published by Walker 7th April 2022

JAM. PIRATE TREASURE. A DEVILISH DANCING FERRET. AND MORE JAM!

Scooter’s brain is PACKED with ideas. He and his alien friend Frizzbee couldn’t be more excited to reveal them all tonight, at the GRAND REOPENING of McLay’s jam factory.

ONLY PROBLEM his arch-enemy Daffy Dodgy is demanding cash, or else she’ll claim the factory. Luckily there is gold under Scooter’s very nose! But he isn’t the only one who has sniffed it out.

MY REVIEW I love jam on toast every day which made me want to read this fun book all about jam.

In the fictional village of Willowden Green rumours were spreading about McLay’s jam factory.

Inside the jam factory they made different types of flavoured jams. Everyone wanted to know how the factory kept making magnificent flavours of jam invention.

The kids at school had their own theories in how the factory made all types of flavoured jams.

The main character Scooter has Cerebral Palsy, and is Chief Inventor at McLay’s Jam factory.

Prepare for some secret malicious trick that has been played on Scooter.

There is plenty more going on this story, to keep children glued to the action, laugh out loud scenes.

I recommend this book for children as the author has an excellent imaginative cast of characters with all that goes on being very nicely played out.

Children from the age of 6+ will love this story and the funny illustrations on every page.

I would like to thank Walker books for sending me this book to read and review.

About author Chrissie Sains

I grew up in Billericay, Essex where I spent much of my childhood seeking adventure and finding trouble. My escapades include narrowly avoiding death by seagull poo, an attempted rescue of the school pet fish from in-tank cannibalism and a stealth mission to uncover who ate all of the Christmas tree chocolates (it was me).

I’ve always loved reading and making up stories. I wrote my first aged 7; a high stakes adventure about falling through a trapdoor into a pit filled with hungry crocodiles. Luckily my hero was saved from certain doom by a brave young guinea pig, named Boris.

Boris continued to star in many of my tales and even features in my new book as a baddie! He’s based on my childhood pet guinea pig (also named Boris) who was actually quite nice (and very fluffy).

Now that I’m a grown up and a proper author, I’m a lot more serious and authory. When I’m not writing, I enjoy slurping tea from a china teacup with my pinky finger pointing out while I read the Beano. I also enjoy taking long strolls in my local woods and watching Marvel movies with my family.
