Mothers and Daughters Erica James

Paperback published by HQ Stories 21st July 2022

ISBN 9780008413736

Since the sudden death of her husband, Naomi has steadily rebuilt the life they shared in the village of Tilsham by the sea.

Her eldest daughter, Martha, is sensible and determined just like her father was and very much in control of where her life is going. If she could just get pregnant with her husband, life would be perfect.

Willow, the youngest was always more sunny and easy going, yet drifted through life, much to her father’s frustration. But now, with charming new boyfriend, Rick, she has a very good reason to settle down.

The three women are as close as can be. But there are things Naomi has kept from her daughters.like the arrival of Ellis,a long lost friend from way back, now bringing the fun and spark back into her life. And she’s certainly never told them that her marriage to their father wasn’t quite what it seemed.

Relatable characters, powerful storylines. Erica James gets to the heart of the family drama.

MY REVIEW

Erica James written twenty three books that has been listed in my proof copy and Mothers and Daughters is the authors new book for 2022.

Mother’s and daughters is my first book by the author Erica James and I loved it all, now I’m hooked on Erica James writing, so I will try some of her other great novels.

Martha and Tom are happy and live on the outskirts of Cobbham.

But This particular novel is heartbreaking.

Martha wants the same what most people have is to be able to work, have children and a have a nice home.

This brought tears to my eyes for Martha Adams, after a day working in her office, she buys a pregnancy test kit as she thinks she could be pregnant, but after taking a pregnancy test for Martha it was just ruined the day for her, with her cruel false alarm.

Martha has a secret that she hasn’t told Tom.

She doesn’t tell her husband about the pregnancy test she bought, or about the baby clothes she kept in the guest bedroom wardrobe.

My heart ached for Martha as she is desperate to want a baby and having a hard time getting pregnant.

I recommend this book as there is a really good story here about Martha, and willow, Martha’s sister and much more is about to unfold.

I would like to thank HQ Stories for sending me a proof copy to read and review.
