MY REVIEW
Today my biggest shout out is a new novel 39 Plus One by Ragh Bir that I read this week, it’s my top favourite funny, chick lit, romcom, romance! Take my advice don’t miss this book!
Rachel, from Royal Windsor, is 39 single, and will be 40 next year and all her friends want to know what she planning for her big 40th. The only thing is all her friends seem to be married off.
Rachel hasn’t had a serious boyfriend in last 7 years. It’s not that Rachel can’t get a boyfriend it just she is too fussy. But I think rightly so, as you need the right man in your life to be happy.
Now has come the time to quest for the next 12 months to find her perfect, imperfect soulmate.
But could everything be about to change for Rachel, as by chance as on the way home from work she decided to pop into the new store, where she meets a man with a cute French accent.
To add to the excitement Francois texted a message to Rachel to meet up. I was hooked into finding out if Rachel and French Francois will become soulmates, and when they share their kiss. But after Francois, Rachel is still on her mission to find her quest for a man of her dreams.
Oh my god this novel is so funny. Rachel gets herself into a bit of a pickle she out in an Italian restaurant with another man who is divorced with two teenage boys and when takes his dentures out it’s a turn off for her. But this guy has other ideas he wants to see Rachel again.
Rachel takes the reader through quite a funny journey of all the men she meets, searching for the right man to become her perfect, imperfect soulmate.
All romance readers will enjoy reading about Rachel Collins looking for the right man, with added laugh out scenes.
I absolutely loved this romance story. I think it deserves much more than five stars.
I liked how this novel is based on real life experiences of the author, Ragh Bir.
The author has a fantastic flair of imagination, and sense of humour, nicely twisting the characters in some of the events and situations, than what the author went through.

About the author

Ragh Bir’s family arrived in the UK in the early 1960s. Born in the Summer of Love, in Slough, Berkshire, she found growing up in a family with a strict Indian father challenging to her free-spirited nature. Her Indian upbringing was neither traditional, nor, contemporary, and she found herself caught up in the middle of two very different cultures. She embraced the opportunity and left Slough in 1990 to attend the University of Portsmouth, where she completed a Post Graduate in management studies. After graduating, and fully enjoying the freedom that came with living away from home, she decided to travel to France with her Irish bovfriend. Her dreams of living in the South of France, came crashing down when their car broke down on the roundabout at Champs-Élysées.
Her adventure was plagued with disasters, and when money soon ran out by the time they reached Bordeaux, it was time to say good bye to France.
A move to the Republic of Ireland, saw her experience the Irish way of life, and a year later she returned to the UK, and her career as airline cabin crew began. Living in Bagshot, Surrey, she enjoyed her life of travel, and was fortunate to experience the many different cultures of the countries that she visited. Her debut novel, 39 Plus One, was born in 2007, and writing the first three chapters came easily.
