This story pulls you in from the first page, until the very last word. Two little girls go missing on the same day in Stockholm. Detective Ewert Grens visits his wife’s grave every morning, afternoon and evening. His wife Anni died ten years ago.

While at the cold cemetery he meets a woman that has after six months declared her daughter dead, and visits the graveyard, where she has a metal plaque with the words MY LITTLE GIRL. Her daughter was three years old when she disappeared, wearing a new dress with her in a beautiful plait sitting in her car seat, when a driver from another car stopped right next to her car door, then opened her car door and took her little girl, then drove off. The police investigated, but after a year of searching for her the police didn’t know anything more than on the first day of the search. Now Detective Ewert Grens takes it upon himself to start looking at the files.

I haven’t heard of this author until I came across this book, but now after reading Sweet Dreams that I found unputdownable, I have found myself a brilliant new crime author to follow.
