An Intense courtroom drama plays out when young Tommy Henderson takes the stand to provide crucial testimony in his teacher’s sexual assault trial. Nothing could adequately prepare the boy for Lester Mobey’s meticulous cross-examination. The wily and experienced defence attorney never left a stone unturned and committed everything to win his last trial before retirement.
The consequence of the jury’s verdict has devastating and deadly implications for Tommy and his teacher as they both grapple with the aftermath of the emotionally charged courtroom clash.
The lessons learned from that nefarious courtroom experience prove invaluable when Tom Henderson, now and adult and lawyer, desperately tries to save his son’s life. The only question is — how far is he willing to go?
MY REVIEW
Today I’m shouting loudly about the book Innocence on Trial it’s a must buy, must read.
Although Innocence on Trial is based on true events, the page turning intense court scene is fictional. I love reading about court scene books. The whole story itself is brilliant but heartbreaking, with wanting the best for the main character of a young boy. This book I can honestly see turned into a TV series or a film.
Mother Linda Henderson found her self pregnant at the young age of fifteen, with a son Tommy, whose father left Linda to bring up Tommy as a single mother where she found being a young mother difficult emotionally and financially.
Raymond, Roberts a father, knew a friend who worked as a lawyer to represent Raymond’s son, Robert Hiller, in court.
Teacher Robert Hiller has been accused of sexual assault to ten year old Tommy Henderson.
Parents let their boys stay with teacher Robert Hiller in his cabin because they trusted him as a teacher. But little did the parents know twisted Robert a grown up adult, was sharing a big bed with the boys and watching them from a window when they urinated. He sexually assaulted another boy and Tommy Henderson, he made the boys to promise never tell your parents because it will violate the brother code.
The court was heartbreaking, I was astonished how the court was a bit hard on questioning ten year old Tommy Henderson. We careful follow what happened to teacher Robert Hiller and Tommy Henderson.
I highly recommend Innocence on Trial as its absolutely fantastic.
Although Stephen Roth did his first draft ten years ago, it wasn’t until COVID started, that Stephen started writing this book again. I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much I Hope Stephen Roth writes another court scene book again.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Kelly Lacey at Love books tours for inviting me to take part in this fabulous blog tour and arranging for this excellent book to be sent to me.
