MY REVIEW

As I love jam so much I loved reading the first book Treasure under the Jam Factory, which remains my favourite of the Jam Factory series.

In this third book in the series Slugs Invade The Jam Factory, is a very funny story.

Scooter, has turned McLays jam factory into a tropical paradise. Scooter has cerebral palsy with the left side of his body a little stiff, meant he had to wear an uncomfortable Splint to stop his foot from dragging.

Scooter is having trouble with slugs invading McLays jam factory, leaving slug slime.

Daffy is head of security at the factory.

I loved the slug defence plan that Scooter has prepared.

1 Ask them nicely not to break in anymore. FAILED – Don’t speak slug!

2 Put Daffy and Boris on slug duty. FAILED – Daffy is TERRIFIED of slugs.

3 Give them a jam sandwich and make friends so they’ll agree to stay outside.

Children will love all the Jam Factory series.

Invade the Jam Factory, is about a slimy slug take over a hygiene inspection and lots of jam!

This book is very educational, as at the back of the book there are two pages told in an easy way to understand, information, all about cerebral palsy, to help children know what is cerebral palsy.

About Chrissie Sains

Chrissie’s book, An Alien in the Jam Factory, illustrated by the talented Jenny Taylor, has received heaps of recognition, including being shortlisted for the Alligator’s Mouth award and the Sheffield Children’s Book award. And as if that wasn’t enough, it was also crowned Toppsta Reader’s Favourite of 2021 – take that, Harry Potter!

But wait, there’s more! Chrissie has also co-authored a children’s novel with Cara Mailey called I Got This, which has been shortlisted for The Redbridge Book Awards.
