‘Do you remember me?she asked, after stepping into my office.

When private detective and former teacher Henry Kimball is hired to investigate an ex-pupil’s cheating husband, he senses all is not quite what it seems, and before he knows it he’s gotten far too close to the other women.

As the case gets ever stranger, he turns to the only person he can trust. Lily Kintner, someone with very dark secrets of her own.

With its ingenious plot, and twists aplenty. The Kind Worth Saving is a crime novel to savour from a modern master.

MY REVIEW

Years ago I read the thriller book The Kind Worth Killing, so I knew I would enjoy this thriller The Kind Worth Saving.

Mr Kimball once a teacher, left his job,to become a police officer, then became a private detective. When Joan walks into Henry Kimball’s office, the first thing Joan says is “Do you remember me?” When Mr Kimball used to teach Joan, he knew her as Joan Grieve, but now her married name is Joan Whalen.

Joan needs private detective Henry Kimball’s help as she knows her husband Richard Whalen is having an affair, with a woman named Pam O’Neil.

The story takes a bad turn when Joan Whalen’ Henry private detective, finds the corpse of her husband Richard Whalen and Pam O’Neil.

One thing ! A private eye is always good at their job.

I absolutely loved the whole story with twists after twists after, twists that I didn’t see coming, and that’s just what author Peter Swanson is amazingly good at, writing thrillers that no one can possibly know the ending.

If you haven’t read any thrillers by Peter Swanson, maybe you should check his books out!

I’m now looking out for the festive chiller, The Christmas Guest by Peter Swanson that will be published in the winter of 2023.
