My name is Emma Cartwright. Three years ago I was Susan Webster, and I murdered my twelve-week-old son.

I have no memory of what happened but you believe what your loved ones, your doctor and the police are telling you, don’t you?

But if you can’t remember what happened, how can you be sure that they are telling the truth?

And if there was the smallest chance your son was alive, wouldn’t you do anything to get him back?

MY REVIEW

Phew! What a page turner!

The police, the doctor, and the court told Susan Webster that she had killed her twelve week old son, Dylan, by smothering him with a cushion.

But what if they all lied?

It appears that Susan had no memory of committing this awful crime.

The court found Susan Webster guilty and she was sentenced at Oakdale Psychiatric Insitute for her crime.

When Susan’s released early on parole with a new identity and with a new address, she has the chance to rebuild her tattered life.

No one will know her real name or where she lives. But one morning she finds an envelope addressed to her. Inside was a photograph of a little four year old boy named Dylan. As Susan had no memory of killing her son, how can she really believe he is dead?

I urge you all to read How I Lost You as the twist in this brilliant psychological crime novel, is one that I didn’t see coming and I don’t think you will either.

Today my biggest shout out is read any book that is written by Jenny Blackhurst!

About author Jenny Blackhurst

Jenny grew up in Shropshire thinking that authors were rock stars and that she needed to get a real job. After being made redundant she decided to write a book, then another, then another and at some point writing became her real job. Someone is Lying is her fifth book and she is now unemployable in any field. She is an avid reader and can mostly be found with her head in a book or hunting Pokémon with her son. Her favourite film is Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, but if her children ask it’s definitely Moana. You can find Jenny on
