MY REVIEW

I love reading stories about magic, and I know all young girls, that like reading magical stories will love this Spellcasters novel.

The author has an incredible imagination writing, with having her book published set with big writing that’s easy for children to read.

Spellcasters, has all the delightful reading ingredients with girl friendship, spells, powers, ancestors, ancient China powers and and an evil character.

I was hooked into this story. The main character Jenny who is staying with her grandmother, Por Por, grandfather and her Auntie, while her parents are travelling.

Jenny is given a heirloom jade stone bracelet, little does she know it will give her some magic powers.

Jenny falls down a sinkhole, having an out of body experience watching over her self. When her jade bracelet starts to glow, she hears an evil spirit speaking to her.

At school Jenny joins a girl band, with some other girls, that have magical powers too. There is a laugh out loud moment when strange magical things start happening to them from the spirits of their ancestors. The girls have to use their magical powers to fight off the Graydig evil spirit that is haunting them and trying to destroy The Oaks Community Centre.

Spellcasters, would be good for the school libraries, specially for the ages of 7+. I believe Spellcasters , could be turned into a school project writing about adventure of magical powers. I also recommend it to parents to buy for their daughter or daughters, as it will most certainly keep girls entertained.
