Start with one fake-dating setup, add a pinch of pining and a dash of flirtation, then let’s simmer.
When Luna O’Shea is unceremoniously fired from her frustrating office job, she tries to count her blessings: she’s a proud trans woman who has plenty of friends, a wonderful roommate, and a goal in life in New York City. But blessings don’t pay the bills.
Enter Jean-Pierre, a laissez-faire trans man and the heir to a hugely culinary empire which he’ll only inherit if he can jump through the hoops his celebrity-chef grandfather has placed in his path. First hoop: he needs a girlfriend. Second hoop: they both need to learn to cook the family’s world-renowned, elaborate recipes.
Luna’s happy to play the role of devoted girlfriend and chef, for a price. Never mind the fact she’s never even cracked an egg. Or the pesky feelings she’s starting to have for Jean-Pierre
MY REVIEW
I love reading stories where something goes completely wrong for the main character, then turns into a whirlwind of excitement.
Luna O’Shea is lucky to work at home, for a digital marketing advertising firm. Then disaster strikes, she is being let go for low performance.
Panic mode sets in, with the amount of money she will get from her sort of being redundant, how will she be able to afford her health insurance and pay her bills.
Luck maybe just around the corner, when a Trans French man Jean-Pierre, offers her a thousand dollars if she will pretend to be his girlfriend.
Luna goes to Paris with him, where she will learn how to cook under pressure by television judges. I didn’t like the argument that erupts when Jean-Pierre’s mum speaks out she knows Luna is transgender. However the cooking TV challenge is on. I highly recommend the rom com fiction romance story Chef’s Choice by this author.
Who does all the cooking in your house?
The cooking is shared in my house, sometimes I cook the dinners, then sometimes my daughter will. On a Sunday’s it’s my partner’s turn he always cooks the Sunday roast, and washes up after.
Thank you Simon and Suchter UK for sending me a lovely rom Com romance to review.
