MY REVIEW
I have never read a story about a woman police diver before, this why I will never forget this page-turning this novel.
Jen Harper is a police diver, who has trouble sleepwalking, with waking up to find herself in the silt in water meadows river.
Forty-eight hours later Jen who had been a full-time diver for the police for nine years is called by the police to dive into the river to search for a missing woman, champion British diver Claudia Franklin, who Jen she knows, well, through her brother Bill, but she can’t let the police know or she’ll be taken off the job, for just being involved with someone she knows.
At first I thought Jen may have drowned Claudia during her sleepwalking into the river. Jen also knows Mark well, who is married to Claudia. Mark tells Jen the statement he gave to police.
Bill, Jen’s brother often looks after his nephew Sam. Betting online in poker is always losing him money, which he keeps borrowing money from his sister, Jen.
With Bill knowing Claudia, his sister Jen, wants to know where he was when Claudia went missing. This is when I had a second suspect I thought maybe Bill killed Claudia.
My third suspect I thought maybe Claudia’s husband Mark drowned Claudia in the river. Then when I found out there was a new British diver, Marie Cadorna, the nation’s obsession, just seventeen years old. I thought does she want Claudia out of the way so she can’t take any limelight away from Maria.
Hmm! so many suspects. I definitely would recommend Silent Waters, as one thing I know for sure is the author L. V. Matthews has weaved her magic with so many twists and turns it’s absolutely impossible to know how the ending, and that’s how this novel has become my favourite because I couldn’t guess the ending twist.
