MY REVIEW

I throughly enjoyed reading this short horror book Second Hand Rose, that I read in a day.

Deborah Fox is a very new talented author, that I hope she will write more supernatural novels.

In 2001, 15 year old Abigail Hurst attended Friendship High School and dated the football captain. During the evening and weekends she worked in a quaint antique shop with her Grandma.

In June 2018, Abigail’s Grandma Rose, passed away, so now Abigail feels it’s time to leave Everett and her job as a reporter at the The Herald, and move back to Friendship.

With sorting out her Grandma’s house most of it was old fashioned dark furniture, that she would sell most of her Grandma’s furniture in the antique shop, including her beautiful big bedroom wardrobe, that Abigail hated, but her Grandma used to say it was special. Once this special wardrobe is in Abigail’s antique shop, strange horrible things start to happen, that makes this story unputdownable.

Hi all you bloggers and readers out there this is lovely quick read, frightening novel with a twist at the end that’s impossible to guess. Perfect for Halloween! Or to read in the evenings.

I would like to thank author Debora Fox for sending me a printed paperback for an honest review xx.

About writer Deborah Fox

Deborah Fox lives in Yorkshire with her partner Paul. She currently works for a large electrical distributor, as well as being a budding author.

Like many children, Deborah spent her time inspired by stories from AA

Milne to JM Barrie, and to this day her favourite story was and still is,

Winnie the Pooh! Her writing talents didn’t materialise until later in life

as most of her childhood was spent dancing and performing.

Deborah’s passions are the outdoors, gardening, interior design, dogs

and cinema. She has always been intrigued with all things supernatural

and the time presented to her during COVID, and the inspiration from

the sad passing of her dog Jake, was the start of her first novel ‘Second

Hand Rose.’

With the support of family and friends and Blossom Spring agreeing to

publish her story, it has fulfilled the dream to become a published

author and has given the encouragement to write more stories.
