Her new chapter starts now

Jo Sorsby is hiding from her past when she agrees to run her uncle’s beloved stationery shop. Glimpsing the lives of her customers between the warm wooden shelves, as they scribble notes and browse colourful notebooks, distracts from her bruised heart.

When she meets Ruth, a vicar running from a secret, and Malcolm, a septuagenarian still finding himself, she suddenly realizes she isn’t alone.

They each have a story that can transform Jo’s life if only she can let them in.

Masterful storytelling by author Celia Anderson

MY REVIEW

The Book of Beginnings is my first book by author Sally Page, and what a delightful story it is!

I’m definitely a hundred percent recommending this story as it is the perfect book to curl up to now the dark nights have a little colder.

My heart went out to Jo Sorsby, who had been living with her handsome boyfriend, who she loved very deeply, with her wanting marry him and have a baby, who broke up.

Every woman that has been in a loving relationship and broken up from someone they loved so much will know exactly how Jo is feeling. I thought James was not so much of the Mr nice guy, as he is dating one of Jo’s old work colleagues.

With Jo’s uncle suffering from dementia, she takes over and runs her uncle’s hardware and stationery shop in North London, where she observes every customer that gives the reader something to smile about.

Jo realises that a vicar who has been in the store, has been in the news paper as the Runaway Vicar Ruth Hamilton.

About author Sally Page

After studying history at university, Sally moved to London to work in advertising. However, in her spare time she studied floristry at night school and eventually opened her own flower shop. She soon came to appreciate that flower shops offer a unique window into people’s stories and eventually she began to photograph and write about this floral life in a series of non-fiction books. Later, she continued her interest in writing when she founded her fountain pen company, Plooms.co.uk.

In her debut novel, The Keeper of Stories, Sally combines her love of history and writing with her abiding interest in the stories people have to tell. Sally now lives in Dorset. Her eldest daughter, Alex, is studying to be a doctor and her youngest daughter is the author, Libby Page.

Sally’s second novel is due out Autumn 2023. A story about the power of friendship – and reflecting her love of fountain pens. Available for pre order now
