MY REVIEW
Terra Electrica, The Guardians of the North, by Antonia Maxwell, is absolutely unputdownable, fantastic. I was glued to this story so much, that I can definitely see this novel, being snapped up made into a film for TV, but also in major cinemas too. Mani, is a brave little girl, who has lost her mother, to a deadly disease that struck the village she once used to live in. The disease took the whole village, and now there is only Mani and her dad left. The only safest place for Mani and her father is to live in a cave. Mani is left in the cave on her own, while her dad hunts for food. Mani only brought from the family home a wooded mask that her mother told her was very special, which she puts on inside the cave, where strange things start to happen. As Mani is starving and fed up waiting for her father to come back to the cave, she adventures out, to look for her father and see if she can find some food herself, and meets a talking bear. This is honestly such an amazing fantasy novel, not to be missed by any reader, no matter what your age, if you are 9 to 90!
