IN THE OPEN WATER

New Year’s Eve. When Hannah and her rich friends rent a luxury yacht in an Italian marina, they party in style under the stars until they pass out, drunk on champagne and tired from dancing.

THERE’S NOWHERE TO RUN.

The next morning, they awake to a nightmare, horrified to find someone has cut them adrift with no land in sight and no fuel in the engine. Accusations fly and friendship fracture as the group begin to turn on one another. And that’s when the first person goes missing.

MY REVIEW

If there’s one crime book I need to shout out to every one of you that loves reading, The Yacht by Sarah Goodwin has to be your first Choice. Nothing is what it seems. The lies after lies are all there! A few characters, you may love or dislike. In the past, Hannah, Libby and Mags, started a new school together, they were friends from day one. Years later they are still best of friends. Libby her best friend invites Hannah to a New Year’s Party on husband’s Olly’s Yacht. With such wealth, Olly has even a colour coordinated helicopter to match his yacht. The years have changed. Libby is now so rich that she is really out of Hannah’s league. Libby has flash clothes with expensive body, treatments. Hannah just doesn’t have the money, that her rich friends have, she shops in Primark, and her party dress is from oxfam, the shoes Hannah is wearing, to the party, Libby gave her. For a present for Libby, Hannah bought some chocolates, and Whiskey, that she had to work hours for to earn enough to buy them. Maggie is dressed in such an expensive dress that it must cost more than the whole floor of a Primark store. Maggie is at the party on the yacht with her boyfriend Leon. Everyone starts to drink too much. Maggie boyfriend Leon tried it on with Hannah, now how she supposed to tell her best friend Maggie that her boyfriend is out of control, trying it on with her. By morning Hannah has had enough of her rich friends and tries to leave the yacht, but the yacht is out at sea. The yacht’s radio, doesn’t work, along with the internet connection, for all of the group, on board, their mobile phones, don’t work, to call or text for help. Things are going to get a whole lot worse, than any reader can ever imagine. The Yacht is a firm hundred percent a must buy, must read. Other sea/river adventures, I can recommend is, After the Storm, by G.D. wright, and The Missing, by Tim Weaver, also Sea adventures by J.M Simpson.
