MY REVIEW
It’s very rare I get the opportunity to read a brilliant YA Science Fiction fantasy book, but I’m so glad that I received a copy of The Soultrapper, as I honestly couldn’t put it down. This story reminded me of a few years ago, when I was in Spain, through a shop window I see adults queuing up to try VR head sets on, laughing their way through their experiences. In the Soultrapper, fifteen year old Stef and Paul, play computer games. Stef is about to get really upset, Paul her best friend, thinks he can’t play computer games with her anymore, because he now has a girlfriend. But they both use VR head sets, where they hear the voice of an virtual assistant, that welcomes them to The Disappearance of Eden Rose. In their VR head set Stef and Paul, are going to have a lot of fun playing The Disappearance of Eden Rose. They are going to go on an adventure which they will experience how to solve mini-puzzles, open locks. Both of them will be trapped inside a room where they must find a way to escape, just like an escape room. While Stef and Paul get ready to play their game from their VR head set, my favourite lines, “I can actually feel it. Like real. It’s so weird.” “Alright, how do we change what we look like?” Paul exhaled. “Well if voice commands work…” “CHANGE AVATAR?” The Soultrapper, is such an unusual exciting story where the reader is taken through Stef and Paul’s VR head set game, where it’s like you have a VR head set on too, going along through the game and commands, with them. Although this book is ideally for the ages of 13 to 18 years being a virtual reality escape room mystery for teenagers, I absolutely loved every page and now I can’t wait to now to read more sci fiction fantasy! I do hope the author Stanislava Buevich writes another fantasy novel. The Soultrapper could well be for fans of Game Over Rise of The Raid Mob by M. J. Sullivan, and Anticipation by Neil Taylor.
