Everyday I clean the Winchesters beautiful house. I collect their daughter from school. And I cook a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor.
I try to ignore how Nina Winchester makes a mess just to watch me clean it up. How she tells strange lies about her own daughter. And how her husband seems more broken every day. But it’s hard to not imagine what it would be like to live Nina’s life. The walk-in closet, the fancy car, the perfect husband.
I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. But soon as she finds out and by the time I realise my bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late.
But the Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of.
MY REVIEW
I have the whole set of Freida McFadden books. I’m so glad I have finally got round to reading this incredible, page-turning thriller, THE HOUSEMAID. I believed in the whole story, that was feeding my imagination as I was reading on. But what I wasn’t prepared for was the unbelievable, top notch, twists and especially the ending. I bow to Freida McFadden, who in my eyes is the queen of domestic thrillers. Now I cat wait to read all the other books on my shelf by the talented author FreidaMcFadden.
