Valerie Sinason, has weaved an incredible unique splendid novel, Hotel Mirabelle and the Wonderful Wheelchair Company, based her characters being in a wheelchair.
Maanika, and her wounded hero brother together, run a holiday company called Wonderful Wheelchairs.
Maureen who can walk, but has to use a wheelchair, lived in a sheltered accommodation, that is a studio flat specially designed for people with disabilities.
She wants to go on a disability holiday.
Her key worker finds a hotel in Sunville with a company called Wonderful Wheelchairs.
This fabulous story is such a masterpiece, I highly recommend it to bloggers and readers, and book clubs.
About author DR. Valerie Sinason
Valerie Sinason is a widely published poet and writer who was on the council of the British Poetry Society and ran Poetry West Hampstead with acclaimed writer Bernard Kops. She was also for four decades ( now retired) a consultant child psychotherapist and adult psychoanalyst focusing on trauma and disability. Her previous novel was The Orpheus Project and her classic renowned textbook is Mental Handicap and the Human Condition: A Psychoanalytic Approach to Intellectual Disability, which included a chapter on working with Alzheimer’s. Alzheimers and intellectual disability are also lived family experience for her.
