MY REVIEW
For any reader that enjoys reading about coastal settings in fiction will love this series.
If you are a fan of books like The Cove by LJ Ross this series is right up your street.
And if you are a fan of suspense by authors Linda Castillo, Kendra Elliott, Nora Roberts I know you will all love Jo Simpson books.
If you are a fan like me of gripping page-turners, that can’t sleep until I have finished then I recommend Sea State the first book and the second book Sea Change.
I have enjoyed reading so much book 1 & 2, I can’t wait for book 3 in the series.
Sea Change is Book number 2 in the series that is released 1st March 2022, in paperback, E-book and the good news it’s international distribution.
Sea Change follows on from book 1 Sea State. But if you want to start from the beginning read first Sea State before you read Sea Change or you can read either as a stand-alone.
It’s been a great pleasure to read the another instalment, of the seaside town Castleby. And with Characters that were in book 1 appear in book 2.
I loved reading about all the characters in Sea Change and the mystery, suspense and drama, that unfolds.
I’m glad that Skipper Doug Brodie and the crew’s full-time mechanic Jesse Stevens are still set within this story.
Dr Claire Brodie had an affair, but she still loves Doug and she wants her and Doug to try again, but Doug still has feelings for Jesse Stevens. My heart ached for Claire, as things are going to get a whole lot worse for her.
Doug dressed in his RNLI uniform and him and Jesse set of in their life boat to rescue a man that has been caught up in the nets.
Former Police Officer Chris Cherry is in prison because of a serious assault and attempted murder of Jesse . He was still on remand waiting for his court hearing. I couldn’t believe it that Chris comes up with a big plan.
Jo Simpson has delivered a knockout with page turning scenes unfolding, it’s an easy five star rating from me!
Here is a picture of the first book Sea State and the outline of the story, for you all incase you would like to start from book one.

I would like to say a special thanks to Literally PR for inviting me once again to join in with this special fictional sea story series, blog tour.

ABOUT AUTHOR J. M. SIMPSON
Simpson was born in Essex but was raised primarily in the West Country, enjoying a childhood in Devon and Cornwall, never far from a rugged coastline, sandy beach, or harbour.
Further education in the west country had limited choices, so she bucked the trend of going to secretarial college and opted for a course further away at Exeter college: building & civil engineering. Jo was the only female on her course at the start.
Jo obtained a degree in Building Surveying from the University of Greenwich and then went on to specialise in research in construction and development, gaining her PhD in 2001. Jo still runs a successful research consultancy and writes her novels in every spare moment she has.
She lives in Kent, with her two (occasionally stroppy) teenage daughters, her extremely long suffering husband and her two writing partners Max (who features as Brock in the series) and Merlin, both rescue Border Collies.
Jo’s debut novels are the Castleby series, comprising of five books set in a coastal community and largely inspired by the time she’s spent in and around the UK’s coastline, and the never-ending visits to RNLI shops that her children insisted on regularly! The series seemed a natural progression and the fictional seaside town of Castleby grew with new people and new plotlines.
‘The debut novel in the Castleby series is Sea State, out December 2021, the second is Sea Change, due for release in March 2022.
Jo is planning a new series set in the Scottish highlands, the first of which will hopefully publish in early 2023.
In what little spare time Jo has, she spends writing, walking by the ocean, being an armchair movie critic, and drinking copious amounts of wine in her most favourite pub with friends.
