You can fake anything online.

When happily divorced Joni is reluctantly talked into joining a dating app, she is surprised to quickly hit it off with Ant. Phone calls and texted soon evolve into a plan to meet up. Which is a problem, as Joni’s profile picture is of someone else.

Joni daren’t confess her lie. Yet, unable to stop thinking about what might have been, she hatches a plan to meet Ant in real life without revealing who she really is.

Once she and Ant are an item, however, it’s soon clear that the only thing Ant was honest about was his profile picture. He’s still online dating. And intimately texting other women.

So Joni contacts them they need to know. And once they’re comparing notes on Ant, upset turns to thoughts of revenge.

But how do you get your own back on a truly heartless man?

MY REVIEW

I have always been a big fan of Jane Fallon reading lots of her previous books. I found Just Got Real unputdownable. I just don’t know how Jane Fallon thinks up such brilliant stories.

To me 49 year old Joni Mitchell seems to be lonely with her husband that left her, and Joni’s daughter Imogen, moving out living and working far from home and her best friend has died, who she shared everything with.

I think Joni is desperate to feel loved again with the idea to start looking on a dating site, where she may find love.

I don’t know why Joni just didn’t use a photo of herself instead of cheating using a picture of her sister, Lucy.

Joni is happy she hit it off straight away on the dating site with with Ant, talking online and on phone to him for nearly two months.

But when she arranged to meet Ant at a coffee shop, it doesn’t quite go to plan.

Joni starts to stalk Ant finding out where he works, and what gym he uses. Then Joni plans to causally meet up with him in the gym to start talking to him.

Joni lies to Ant, giving him, her sisters name Lucy, with inventing a job to impress him. But equally Ant tells Joni so many lies.

Joni finds Ant is still on the dating site, talking to other woman. From this moment on I didn’t believe in anything that Ant told Joni.

Joni has a plan to get revenge on Ant , contacting all the other women he has been talking to on the dating site. Joni is adamant to get back a large amount of money that one woman gave Ant.

I must admit I certainly wasn’t ready for the big twist.
